Actual time to connect may be shorter or longer than times indicated and is dependant upon:

- Size of project / number and type of charging points required
- Location of the scheme
- Quality of the existing network (load availability)
- Legal restraints (cable easements / wayleaves for third-party land)
- Lead times of high-value plant (ie substations) if required
- Streetworks licences for excavations in the public highway
